Paxton Net2

Our recommended Access Control System is Paxton Net2 as this provides easy administration of the system via a PC, Smartphone or Tablet and full log of access gained by named user all within the software.

There are two versions of the software: Net2 Lite, which is ideal for most sites and is free of charge, and Net2 Pro, which offers extra features for more flexible and advanced access control.

Developed to be straightforward and intuitive the Net2 software is very easy to learn and offers fully programmable time and role based Access Control.

Paxton Switch2

Paxtom Switch2 is a standalone Access Control System that is not managed through software.

It needs a controller and a reader for each door and the controller is mounted inside the secure area.

With a standalone system there is no event log, no timed entry profiles and cards are added and removed using a 'shadow card'.

This makes the system unsuitable for anything other than small numbers of users and/or doors. 

Paxton Compact

Paxton Compact works in the same way as Switch 2 in that the cards are programmed at the reader, with the main difference being the Compact has all electronics housed in the reader.

This makes it great for low security, low budget applications where there is no requirement for an Access Control Log.

The downsides are that the lock is controlled from the back of the reader which is on the non-secure side of the door and also, as with the Switch2 system, you have to program every fob or card at every door.
